When will I be notified about my practicum placement?

Students in the 4-semester program will start practicum placement during the third week of their first semester. They will receive their placement notification through email in August 2023. Practicum placement will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays for approximately 16 hours per week.

How do I update my address?

Go to MyUSC, click OASIS, then click Other Services. If you are a 4-semester student who has already completed their Field Placement Form, notify the Practicum Education Office at sswfield@usc.edu.

How do I become eligible for registration (D-clearance)?

You must pay your commitment deposit, confirm your Statement of Intent through the YouSC portal, and complete your Practicum Placement Form (4-semester students only) to be eligible for D-clearance.

When do I register for courses, and which classes should I choose?

The Social Work Registrar will email you detailed registration instructions in June or July 2023.

When is the MSW orientation?

MSW orientation will take place a week or two before the start of the semester. Students will be notified of specific dates when they are determined.

Is the commitment deposit refundable?

The $280 commitment deposit is non-refundable.
