The MSW student/candidate has the unique challenge of acquiring knowledge and skills in learning the principles of the social work profession and code of ethics in the classroom and in practicum placement.

Students are required to learn, and simultaneously apply, the knowledge in their practicum placement work. Practicum education provides the student this opportunity and helps increase their competency as a future social work professional. This requires strong commitment, dedication and active participation from the MSW candidate.

The USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work and the practicum agency are both committed to guiding the student through this process.
