U.S. veterans have been impacted by the economic, social and health disruption caused by COVID-19. Based on findings from the Military and Veterans Programs' International COVID-19 Veteran Impact Study, Sara Kintzle, deputy director of the Center for Innovation and Research on Veterans & Military Families at USC, presents what has been learned about the needs of U.S. Veterans during the pandemic. Carl Castro, director of Military and Veterans Programs joins the webinar for an interactive Q&A at the end of the presentation.

Professor Iris Chi, Professor Yuri Jang, and Associate Professor Shinyi Wu discuss their extensive research findings surrounding the unique barriers facing communities of color as they navigate Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Solution-based interventions focused on health literacy, education, and caregiver support systems are addressed.

Ben Henwood, associate professor and director of the Homelessnes, Housing and Health Equity Research Center (H3E), presents an overview of the H3E Center and how the COVID-19 pandemic as impacted the Center's work on addressing research, practice and policy related to ending homelessness. How have efforts to answer key questions been interrupted by the pandemic? Henwood will address emerging questions, including implementing telehealth within homeless services, access to housing to reduce COVID-19 risk, and the use of mobile devices to better understand trajectories of homelessness.
