International PhD Applicants
In addition to the general admissions criteria and documentation required as part of the PhD application process, international applicants (those who are not citizens or permanent residents of the United States) must submit the following supplementary materials:
- An original-language copy of your academic transcripts accompanied by an official word-for-word English translation.
- An official score report of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), if your first language is not English.
- Documented evidence of financial support (please refer to the Graduate Admission Application for more information).
Your completed application materials must be received by December 1. Applying for admission to our doctoral program is a two-part process. For your application to be considered, you must accurately complete both parts as outlined in our application process.
International applicants should visit the International Applications section of the USC Office of Graduate Admission for additional information on the application process, requirements and frequently asked questions about applying to USC. International applicants with specific questions about the student visa process should visit askUSC.
