The Program Director will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of all programs. This role includes managing program staff, applying for grants, and overseeing volunteers and mentors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with refugee communities and a background in program management and grant writing.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Management:
Develop, implement, and evaluate programs to ensure they meet the needs of African refugee children and their families.
Monitor program budgets and ensure financial sustainability.
Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to enhance program offerings.
Grant Writing and Fundraising:
Identify and apply for grants to secure funding for programs.
Develop and maintain relationships with donors and funding organizations.
Prepare and submit grant proposals and reports.
Volunteer and Mentor Oversight:
Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and mentors.
Develop and implement volunteer and mentor training programs.
Ensure volunteers and mentors are effectively integrated into programs and provide ongoing support.
Staff Management:
Supervise program staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Provide professional development opportunities for staff.
Community Engagement:
Represent the organization at community events and meetings.
Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
Advocate for the needs of African refugee children and their families.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Non-Profit Management, or a related field helpful, but not required.
Program management in a non-profit setting helpful.
Experience in grant writing and fundraising.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for working with refugee communities and understanding of their unique challenges.
