Primary Therapist

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated, client-centered Primary Therapist to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering high-quality care and engaging clients in meaningful therapeutic work. This position includes providing individual therapy, facilitating group therapy, collaborating on individualized treatment planning, and contributing to a supportive clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide individual therapy to clients enrolled in PHP/IOP levels of care

Facilitate group therapy sessions including process groups, psychoeducation, and skills-based interventions

Conduct clinical assessments and support individualized treatment planning

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)

Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and collaborate with clinical, psychiatric, and case management staff

Communicate with family members and outside providers as clinically indicated

Adhere to legal and ethical standards, including HIPAA and licensing board regulations

Required:

Active AMFT, ACSW, or APCC registration or current California licensure (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC)

Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field

Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with treatment planning

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Strong interest in working in PHP/IOP level of care with adult clients

Strongly Preferred:

Prior experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders

Previous experience in a PHP, IOP, or residential treatment setting

Familiarity with evidence-based modalities such as DBT, CBT, or trauma-informed approaches
