Peter M. Gutierrez, PhD is a clinical/research psychologist with the VA's Rocky Mountain Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center in Denver. He has been studying suicide, focusing on screening, assessment, and intervention, for more than 20 years and has authored over 90 peer-reviewed articles on suicide-related topics. He is co-director of the Department of Defense-funded Military Suicide Research Consortium.
