Social Workers Matter: A Day of Self Care

Enjoy an afternoon reception honoring social workers with fun, food, entertainment and education on taking care of you!
Kim Goodman, clinical associate professor of field education at the USC School of Social Work, will give a keynote speech on the importance of self-care to social workers, and healing arts expert Tapas Fleming will be teaching "TAT (tapping)" techniques to help social workers with self-care.
USC MSW student Friday Lilly will receive the NPN-LA Social Work Innovator Award for her work infusing music into the practice of social work to impact healing. Daniel Rothenberg, a California State University, Northridge, MSW graduate, professional social worker and professional comedian, will receive the SFVLU Social Work Innovator Award for his work infusing humor and laughter into social work practice and self-care.
Rothenberg will be speaking and performing stand up comedy. Lilly will be speaking and performing music with her husband, Charles Lilly, a USC Thornton School of Music graduate student, and colleagues from the USC Thornton School, Cal State Long Beach and other graduate schools of music.
Finger-food appetizers and desserts, as well as coffee, tea and iced tea, will be offered.
