Join fellow Trojans as we gather for the 2017 USC Alumni Day of SCervice on Saturday, March 11. Alumni, students, faculty, staff, family and friends are invited to make a difference in local service volunteer projects organized by our USC alumni clubs, chapters and other affiliated groups worldwide.

This year, you can choose from more than 85 projects worldwide to participate in. For more information and to register, visit the Day of SCervice website.

The USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work Alumni Association will host two of these projects in Los Angeles:

  • MLK Recurperative Care Center - Join the USC Homelessness Initiative and USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work to address the Grand Challenge of ending homelessness. We are partnering with the MLK Recuperative Care Center, a place where persons who have been chronically homeless can go post-hospitalization to get care and prepare for permanent supportive housing placement. Volunteers will serve snacks and facilitate group activities including exercise, music, and art. You will receive training and support from the MLK Recuperative Care Center staff.

  • Kinder2College - Join the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work in partnering with Kinder2College, a program that enrolls kindergarten boys in an initiative that prepares them to be proficient in reading and writing by the end of third grade. The Kinder2College curriculum is centered around exciting, interesting, game-based learning exercises and literacy activities. Volunteers will be working with children ages 5-10 and help mentor students for the day. Lunch will be served to the children and volunteers.
