Project Summary
The H3E team is focused on testing and adapting evidence-based interventions to support tenants continued independent living as they age in permanent supportive housing. After documenting the high prevalence of early onset geriatric conditions among these tenants, we conducted a pilot randomized control trial of a model of care known as Community Aging in Place, Advancing Better Living for Elders, or CAPABLE. Based on initial findings that were promising and compelling, H3E has partnered with the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services' Housing for Health program to explore the larger dissemination of CAPABLE in PSH through a full scale clinical trial.
