Mental Health Therapist - 2023 (A Temporary, Professional Expert Assignment)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
— Provide mental health services, including brief individual and group
counseling and mental health assessment and referral services to students
with a wide-range of mental health needs to support their academic
success and retention.
— Provide triage and crisis intervention to students and individuals in
need, and act as a resource for college employees.
—Design, lead and implement campus crisis intervention initiatives.
—Provide crisis intervention, evaluation and referral to community
resources, as well as collaborates with community psychiatric evaluation
teams, as needed.
—Follow standard protocols for psychological counseling and adhere to
ethical principles as stipulated by the Board of Behavioral Sciences and/or
American Psychological Association and in accordance with laws and
regulations pertaining to behavioral healthcare in the State of California.
—Assess the mental health needs of students and develop and appropriate
plan of brief intervention with the students.
—Maintain currency of knowledge and skills related to the duties and
responsibilities.
—Educate students, staff and faculty about the maintenance of mental
health and wellness.
—Monitor and assist in maintaining the accuracy of print and
electronic/online resources used by the Student Health Center and social
media platforms.
—Maintain complete mental health treatment records in accordance with
FERPA and HIPAA regulations.
—Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of
the assignment.
-Must be available to work full days of Wednesday/Thursday, and additional hours can be flexible to meet the 29 hours a week.

—LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Licensed Psychologist
Willing to review candidates who have completed their clinical hours and are currently awaiting their testing for licensure.
