Provides individual, group, conjoint, and family psychotherapy, both short and long term, to eligible children/adolescents and their families in the clinic, in the school setting, and in the home setting.
Completes psychosocial assessments with children and adolescent clients.
Links eligible children and their families with community based therapeutic and supportive clinical services as required.
Participates in case planning and case disposition meetings with other Center staff, consulting psychiatrists, and case managers/counselors as applicable.
Completes all required DMH and Center chart documentation, report writing and correspondence within the mandated time frames.
Maintains at least the required productivity level of 60% on a consistent basis.
Submits weekly schedule of client appointments.
Completes all other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
The ideal candidate must have a master's degree in counseling, social work, or related field – registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a mental health setting working with children and families. Community mental health experience desirable. Experience with severely emotionally disturbed desirable.
Bilingual Spanish required.
Must pass fingerprint clearance background check.
Strong motivation to learn, particularly short-term individual and group therapy skills. Capacity for self-examination, self-disclosure, and ability to empathize are essential.
