Community Crisis Response Team- Clinical Supervisor

The City of Long Beach, Department of Health and Human Services is recruiting for one (1) permanent, full-time, at-will unclassified Community Crisis Response Team Supervisor (Public Health Professional III) in the Collective Impact Bureau. Reporting to the Resource Connections Division Officer and under the operations guidance of the Community Crisis Response (CCR) Program Manager (Community Program Specialist V), this position will serve as the Community Crisis Response Clinical Supervisor and will oversee the daily implementation and daily operations of the Community Crisis Response (CCR) team(s). This position will coordinate mental health services, support the CCR team while they provide therapeutic services to people experiencing mental health crisis throughout the City of Long Beach. This position will also respond to calls in the field when needed. This position is grant-funded and is limited term in nature (one-time funding). This position is located at the Miller Family Health Education Center (FHEC), 3820 Cherry Ave Long Beach, CA 90807.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Support daily operations of the CCR Team and establish rapport with people experiencing mental health crisis, conditions, and co-occurring disorders.
Develop, review, update protocol for CCR team crisis intervention, train staff on response protocols.
Conduct daily briefing and debriefing meetings with CCR Responding Team.
Participate in regular planning meetings with CCR Program manager.
Provide documented updates to management staff regarding any complex calls for services or calls that required the assistance of a Police or Fire response.
Provide support for CCR staff who are responding to persons who are experiencing high distress due to mental health, trauma and/or substance use.
Create and facilitate comprehensive bio-psycho-social evaluations around client functioning, support network, housing stability, mental health, etc.
Develop and facilitate supportive practices for the CCR to reduce experiences of compassion fatigue and secondary trauma.
Partner with hospitals and social service providers to provide referrals for ongoing services and to coordinate effective discharge planning City-Wide.
Develop case management protocol and train and support case managers to keep case notes up to date within electronic database.
Create a social work internship program to additionally support CCR operations and increase education of homeless services City-wide.
Support the CCR Program Manager in the development of trauma-informed, equitable policies and protocols that ensure effective and culturally-relevant care.
Join responding team when Crisis Intervention specialist or peer navigator are unable to be in the field.
Other duties as assigned, including special tasks involved in responding to an emergency event.

EDUCATION/LICENSURE

Masters Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology. (proof required*)
Copy of degree or transcripts denoting degree conferral required if qualifying for the position with an academic degree or academic credits.
Licensed clinical social worker, licensed marriage and family therapist, and/or license in psychology certification from the California board of behavioral sciences. (proof required*)
A valid driver’s license, or the ability to arrange necessary and timely transportation for field travel.

EXPERIENCE
One year of experience providing mental health support or care coordination for a social or human services program.
