The Assistant Director of the Center for Healthy Neighborhoods (CHN) oversees the daily operations and management ofthe facility. This is a key position that assists in the planning, development and execution of programs and events for thecommunity (school and residential), office management activities (including purchasing and budget management), andensuring compliance with university, city, county, and state rules and regulations.
Minimum three (3) years of professional work experience in higher education, social services, student affairs orgovernment.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to work independently, make decisions, and recommendations to management.
Ability to provide project leadership to ensure successful and timely completion.
Ability to coordinate many different tasks, determine relative importance of each, set deadlines, prioritize, andcomplete projects accordingly.
Ability to apply a high degree of judgement, discretion and initiative in coordinating assignments and initiatives.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships with internal staff, campus staff, students,internal stakeholders, and external organizations/agencies.
Demonstrated collaborative leadership skills and ability to coordinate messaging across multiple stakeholder groups.
High level of integrity, trustworthiness, respect, attention to detail, ability to research options, make sound decisions,and handle sensitive issues with highly visible projects.
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of higher education stakeholders in a politically charged environment.
Ability to organize and accomplish work independently.
Strong proficiency in all areas of communication: oral, written, and interpersonal.
Position requires working outside of normal business hours.
