Dr. Benjamin Henwood will give a presentation, "Housing First for Adults Experiencing Homelessness and Serious Mental Illness."
Henwood, a post-doctoral fellow at New York University's Silver School of Social Work and co-investigator of a NIMH-funded study of housing first and recovery, is a licensed clinical social worker who has served as a direct service provider, an administrator and a researcher for organizations serving adults experiencing homelessness and serious health conditions, such as mental illness, physical disease and addiction. He has served as the principal investigator of pilot clinical research that sought to develop more effective models of integrated primary and behavior health care. His research interests focus on the complex service environment for individuals with serious mental illnesses who have experienced homelessness, which has been informed by his practice experience that includes developing and serving as the clinical director for a housing first agency in Philadelphia.
