Todos Para La Salud: Mental Health Career Conference
According to the Center for American Progress, negative health outcomes for LGBTQ people are due in part to the cumulative impact of reduced access to employer-provided health insurance, the social stigma that exists against LGBTQ people and a lack of cultural competence in the health care system. To address these shortcomings, the Wall Las Memorias Project will host its inaugural mental health career conference at USC. The event aims to empower, encourage and support the next generation of leaders in the mental health field.
LGBTQ undergraduate, graduate and local community college students are invited to attend this free day-long conference. The program will include plenary speakers from the mental health field, field option workshops, academic and professional panelists, as well as financial aid and local mental health resources.
The conference will include:
- Breakfast mixer
- Todos Para La Salud panel
- Field options breakout session
- Networking lunch
- Barriers panel
Plus keynotes by:
- Supervisor Hilda Solis, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, District 1
