Details:

This workshop is designed to give participants an overview of the substance abuse research and treatment field including information specific to psychoactive substances, modes of treatment and controversies in the field.  Guidelines will be given for diagnosing dependence, abuse, and treating substance abusers from different theoretical perspectives (e.g., disease model, self-medication model or dual diagnosis model). Substance Use Disorders are mandatory for pre-licensed Alumni. 

The University Consortium for Children and Families (UCCF) is offering a limited number of spaces in courses free of charge exclusively to USC MSW and DSW alumni. 

A $50 deposit (plus Eventbrite Fees) will be refunded at the conclusion of the course, pending verification of your attendance. Note: Courses are offered on a one course, per student, per fiscal year basis (July 1 - June 30), so please only register for one course.

These courses meet the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) criteria for Continuing Education (CEUs) for LCSWs in California. The courses are intended to help you stay apprised of recent developments and standards in clinical practice.
