Hear from Lisa Schilling and Denise Harrison from the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services in Melbourne, Australia.

Lisa Schilling is Manager of Recruitment Strategy and Engagement Unit and Project Manager, child protection workforce strategy. She has been with the department since 2011, and her role involves leading a team to develop workforce strategies that are aligned with the department’s values that will attract, build and engage a capable and diverse health and human services workforce, and support and sustain the participation of disadvantaged Victorians in the economy, employment and education.

Denise Harrison is the Director of Child Protection Branch, South Division, in Victoria, Australia. Her key role is to work collectively to continue to evolve a contemporary child protection system that enhances the safety and well-being of the most vulnerable children and families in their communities. 

The Australia Post-Graduate Certificate Program offers MSW graduates a two-year job immersion focused on Australia’s social welfare profession and its social and cultural scene. Receive a monthly living wage during a two-year placement with a social welfare agency in Australia while earning a Post-Graduate Certificate in International Social Work Practice, which includes a comparative research project, from the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work. USC MSW graduates and current USC MSW students scheduled to graduate by spring 2019 are eligible to apply.
