Organizational and Managerial Determinants of Human Service Contract Management: Survey Evidence from the Bay Area

Dr. Bowen McBeath is a Professor in the School of Social Work and Division of Public Administration at Portland State University and will be presenting survey evidence from the Bay Area on the topic of Organizational and Managerial Determinants of Human Service Contract Management.
McBeath also holds scientific appointments with the University of California-Berkeley Mack Center on Nonprofit and Public Sector Management in the Human Services and the Oregon Social Learning Center. He is interested in the architecture of social service systems and in particular with how agencies provide effective, evidence-based, and consumer-centered care. He is currently involved in research on the organization and financing of social services, and on how agencies develop learning organizational cultures that provide opportunities for evidence-informed practice and practice-based research.
