End of Life Conference
Supporting Dignity at the End-of-Life: Exploring Solutions to Disparities in Care
Supporting Dignity at the End-of-Life: Exploring Solutions to Disparities in Care is a conference and research study organized by Healing Care Hospice and co-hosted by the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work's Departments of Adult Mental Health & Wellness and Nursing.
This conference will explore interdisciplinary approaches to effective care and planning at the end-of-life, specifically within the prism of Southern California's multicultural and diverse landscape. Clinicians, social workers, nurse practitioners, therapists and faith leaders are invited to convene, discuss and study end-of-life issues including dignity, suffering, quality of life, self-determination and service. The conference will also allow participants to identify pathways to share these ideas with members of the medical, faith and service provider communities - to improve care and planning for all.
Grief and loss expert and author David Kessler and End-of-Life Clinician G. Jay Westbrook will serve as this year's featured keynote speakers.
Participants are eligible for CEU credits. Breakfast and lunch are included.
