The public lecture by Junsoo Hur, PhD, is a sponsored global health event organized by the the USC Edward R. Roybal Institute on Aging.
Hur is a professor in the School of Social Welfare and the director of the Aging Research Center at Soongsil University in Seoul, Korea. He is currently a visiting scholar at the USC Edward R. Roybal Institute on Aging. Hur has been appointed and served on several academic associations, community boards and national committees in Korea. He is currently the chairperson of the national education and training committee for the Korea Association of Social Workers (KASW), the director of research for the Korean Academy of Long-term Care, and on the board of directors for the Korean Society of Welfare for the Aged and the Korean Gerontological Society. His major research interests are gerontological social work, the development and evaluation of social services for older populations, international community development, and volunteerism.
