Prize-winning journalist and founder of Fostering Media Connections, Daniel Heimpel, will speak on "Journalism in the Best Interest of the Child."
This year's award recipients are:
Daniel Heimpel - George D. Nickel Award for Outstanding Contributions to Social Welfare

Alex Morales - George D. Nickel Award for Outstanding Professional Services by a Social Worker
Presented by Jacquelyn McCroskey, DSW, USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work
Tena M. Nelson, PhD - Frances Lomas Feldman Excellence in Education Award
Presented by: Esther Gillies, Clinical Associate Professor, USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, retired
We will also be presenting the Madeleine Stoner and Ralph Fertig CSWA Social Work Scholar Award to Alma Guevara for her research effort on outcome disparities among Latino clients in outpatient substance abuse treatment centers in L.A. County, as well as the effects of the Affordable Care Act on these treatment centers' organizational capacity.
