The Center for AI in Society welcomes Nyalleng Moorosi, senior researcher at DAIR, to present on data and our understanding of correctness and ground truth as a function of our history, culture and position in society.

Moorosi, whose research interest are focused on understanding how models can be built to center populations often regarded as peripheral, will share some of the often nondocumented decisions that builders of machine learning tools make and how they challenge the theory of building for all.
