Asian Pacific Islander Scholarship Reception and Paul Chikahisa Endowed Lecture

This 14th annual event benefits an endowment fund for exceptional students in financial need who are pursuing graduate degrees at the USC School of Social Work.
This year’s theme, “Celebrating Visionaries: Honoring the Tradition of Leadership, Service and Transformation in the API Community,” will emphasize the work of Asian Pacific Islander (API) community members in the areas of social service, civil rights, politics, public service and the arts.
The Paul Chikahisa Endowed Lecture, which was established in honor of respected community advocate Paul Chikahisa, will be given by Pauline Agbayani, M.S.W., Ph.D., a professor at California State University, Los Angeles, who has performed extensive research in the areas of race relations and Asian Pacific Islander mental health.

The Social Work Scholarship and the Royal Morales Scholarship, established for social work students interested in working with API populations, are administered by the USC Asian Pacific Alumni Association.
