All School Day is an educational forum co-led by students and faculty to discuss how we can better communicate across differences in race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, social class and disability. Born out of Los Angeles’ civil unrest in 1992, All School Day has become an annual event recognizing and celebrating diversity through an exchange of ideas and discussions that unite participants in an atmosphere of cooperation, respect and inclusion.

This year's keynote speaker is retired Colonel Charles W. Hoge, a nationally recognized expert on post-traumatic stress disorder, mild traumatic brain injury and other physiological reactions to war, as well as treatment strategies for war-related conditions. Other members of the panel include Carl Castro, research director of the USC Center for Innovation and Research on Veterans & Military Families (CIR); Kimberly Finney, a clinical associate professor at the USC School of Social Work, board certified clinical psychologist and retired U.S. Air Force officer; Kristen Kavanaugh, USC School of Social Work alumna, veteran and co-founder and executive director of the Military Acceptance Project; and moderator Anthony Hassan, director of CIR.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Bovard Auditorium. Check in begins at 8:15 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon. After lunch, there will be optional student-sponsored events.

Students in the School of Social Work are required to attend.
