Biography

Holly Priebe Sotelo is an associate teaching professor of practicum education at the University of Southern California, Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work. Priebe Sotelo holds a Master of Social Work, Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Services, and Doctor of Policy, Planning and Development. Priebe Sotelo has also earned credentials in educational administrative services, pupil personnel services, dispute resolution and conflict resolution, human trafficking, and child abuse and family violence.

Priebe Sotelo has three decades of practical social work experience, including direct practice and administrative roles including the coordination of policy and curriculum development on topics including school crisis response; threat assessment; school bullying and harassment; child abuse; human trafficking; diversity and anti-bias; intergroup relations and mediation; teen dating violence; educator sexual misconduct; and restorative justice. Priebe Sotelo has served as one of the media spokespersons for the Los Angeles Unified School District on many of these topics.

In 2021, she was awarded the Jane Addams Faculty Award by graduating students of the Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work in recognition for her academic, administrative and moral support to students.
