Biography
Holly Priebe Sotelo is an associate teaching professor of practicum education at the University of Southern California, Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work. Priebe Sotelo holds a Doctor of Policy, Planning and Development, a Master of Social Work, and a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Services. She has also earned credentials in educational administrative services, pupil personnel services, dispute resolution and conflict resolution, human trafficking, and child abuse and family violence.
Since 1991, Priebe Sotelo has been practicing social work, with years of experience in K-12 public education, child protection services, including foster care, mental health, probation and higher education. Her topics of expertise include human trafficking prevention and intervention; child abuse and family violence, school-based violence including bullying, social media, and crisis response; intergroup conflicts and mediation; and diversity and equity.
Priebe Sotelo has presented at conferences of multiple professional and community sectors, including international, national and local school districts, on these topics. She has been cited as an expert by CNN, KABC, KNBC, Telemundo, Univision, KPCC Radio, KNX Radio, KCET, Los Angeles Times and others. She is also a member of the Global Association of Human Trafficking Scholars (GAHTS) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). She collaborates with other local and national networks to address human trafficking and other social issues.
