We at D’Veal Family and Youth Services (D’Veal) understand it is vital that behavioral health challenges of children and families in the San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles County be met with services consistent with the dynamic needs of today’s world, and within the parameters of various governmental agencies. For over 25 years, we have continually worked to create effective strategies and approaches that do the greatest good in the community and for each of the families we serve through community and school-based programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Train individual staff, groups, and occasionally entire agency on a wide range of topics.
Model and teach Agency’s approach, mission, and core values.
Communicate effectively in a culturally competent manner to a diverse consumer population and promotes favorable interactions with managers, co-workers and others.
Attend QA QIC (Quality Improvement Committee SPA 3) and other county/agency meetings with and/or in place of QA Manager/Supervisor when appropriate.
Ensure that training procedures are in compliance with Agency expectation, licensing requirements, accreditation standards, and federal standards.
Maintains training program and corresponding curriculum for student interns.
Develops monthly campaign for awareness of relevant topics to foster a learning spirit year round.
Assess and support training needs for new and existing employees, including mapping out training plans for individual employees.
Organize, develop or source training programs to meet specific training needs and to address competency gaps.
Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, virtual training, on-the-job coaching.
Liaise with subject matter experts regarding instructional design, keep current on evidenced based practices, training design and methodology, and make recommendations on training material and methodology.
Develop training aids such as manuals and handbooks.
Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness.
Track and report on training outcomes.
Provide feedback to program participants and management.
Handle logistics for training activities including facilities and equipment for both on- and off-site training.
Establish and maintain relationships with external training suppliers and inform staff about training options.
Maintain staff training records.
Maintain current and acceptable standards of charting, meeting the requirements of County, State and Joint Commission audits.
Additional duties on an “as needed” basis to support other D’Veal Programs, including potential to carry a minimal client caseload (as determined by your supervisor, management or administration).
LCSW or LMFT preferred.
Minimum three years’ experience post-degree working with in mental health with children, adolescents, and families preferably in a community treatment setting.
Must possess a valid California driver’s license and maintain an insurable driving record.
Training and experience in psychiatric assessment and case management. Has an understanding of psychiatric conditions, and have the ability to work with a variety of consumer groups and differential diagnoses using DSM V.
Must be able to practice independently and demonstrate the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Must have knowledge of and comfort in working with a multi-cultural target population.
