The Part-time Non-Benefited Pre-Licensed Psychotherapist is responsible for providing a full range of counseling and mental health services to clients of all ages. This may include working with children, teens, or adults, as individuals, couples, and families. Supervision hours are required weekly based on caseload size.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
● Comply with all legal and ethical requirements as outlined by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and any other related governing bodies
● Maintain good standing with the BBS, with no active investigations or complaints
● Comply with all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements
● Utilize psychotherapeutic theories and techniques to deliver mental health services
● Develop and maintain a client caseload to achieve a full-time private practice caseload
● Diagnose psychological disorders
● Create treatment plans that outline proposed goals, plans, and methods of therapy
● Maintain up-to-date and accurate client records, treatment plans, notes, billing, assessments, and BBS-required documents
● Complete client notes and submit for signature by the end of the next business day
● Take client payments by the end of the session
● Demonstrate ability to conceptualize cases in clinical supervision
● Implement appropriate interventions and document in client progress notes
● Complete required amount of supervision per week, as determined by BBS
● Notify clinical supervisor immediately to discuss any mandated reporting issue
● Consistently follow the direction of assigned clinical supervisor
● Collaborate and consult with clinical supervisor, manager, and colleagues when appropriate
● Complete 2 hours of marketing and/or networking a month
● Attend monthly mandatory staff meetings
● Start and end client sessions on time
● Be on time for supervision and meetings
● Maintain a high level of professionalism: competence, knowledge, conscientiousness, integrity, trustworthiness, emotional intelligence, appropriateness, and confidence
● Look clean and neat and dress appropriately for the job
● Supply and support computer hardware, software, and internet
● Refer clients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary
● Assist in maintaining a safe and productive work environment
● Have open communication with management and leadership
● Contribute to the betterment of the practice
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
● Registered associate number from the BBS to practice in California
● Commit to a minimum of 3 years of employment for each position held in the company
● Minimum of 500 hours of clinical experience
● No pending or current investigations or complaints with the BBS or other governing entity
● 1+ years experience conducting psychotherapy with individuals, couples, and/or families
● Cultural, ethnic, and racial sensitivity
● Clinical skills appropriate for level of experience
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
● Excellent time management and organizational skills
● Excellent customer service and professional skills
● Proficient in an electronic, paperless environment using Microsoft Office products, Google Workspace, Google Voice, and EHR systems
● Strong administrative skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Completed or registered for BBS Law & Ethics exam
● 2+ years experience working in mental health
● Basic understanding of out-of-network insurance process
● Unique clinical specialization or training/certification
● Bilingual
● Creativity and resourcefulness
