Job Description

The Business Development Manager will play a critical role in expanding One Degree’s business development pipeline and ensuring sustainable revenue streams. This position is focused on prospecting, marketing, and outreach activities to attract new prospects for One Degree Enterprise Solutions. The ideal candidate is a proactive and independent worker with a strong sales background, particularly within health and human services, government agencies, healthcare institutions, and community-based organizations (CBOs).

The Business Development Manager will play a key role in implementing the infrastructure needed to support the growth of One Degree’s revenue through business development activities. This role is essential for increasing our business development pipeline, with a long-term goal of $5M in annual revenue. Although this role is remote, the ideal candidate will be based in Los Angeles and have established relationships in LA and statewide.

Role and Responsibilities:
Prospecting & Outreach:
Manage and execute prospect outreach strategies to identify and attract new clients.
Develop and implement marketing and outreach activities to generate new business leads.
Sales & Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients.
Drive the sales process from initial contact to closing, including preparing and presenting proposals and RFPs.
Utilize Salesforce CRM system to manage sales activities and track progress.
Coordinate with a cross-functional sales team to develop proposals and RFPs and prepare and submit sales contracts.
Pipeline Development:
Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential prospects within the LA, Bay Area, and broader California region.
Work closely with the executive team to develop business development strategy and ensure alignment with organizational goals and strategies.
External Communication:
Represent One Degree at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote our mission and services.
Collaborate with communications consultants and volunteers to create compelling marketing materials and outreach campaigns.

Qualifications

Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, with a focus on health and human services, government agencies, healthcare institutions, and community-based organizations (CBOs).
Regional Knowledge: Experience and established relationships in Los Angeles County (must-have), San Francisco Bay Area and California statewide (nice-to-have).
Government Procurement: Knowledge of government procurement processes and experience navigating them successfully.
Product/Tech Sales: Background in product or technology sales is a plus.
Love getting and giving meaningful feedback.
Don’t sacrifice the “good enough” for the “perfect” when “good enough” is the right call.

Skills and Abilities:
Sales Acumen: Proven ability to identify, develop, and close new business opportunities, with a track record of securing high-value deals (6-7 figures).
Relationship Management: Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of crafting compelling proposals, RFPs, and presentations.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and time management skills.
Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Tech Savvy: You can build authentic relationships while working remotely and are familiar with Google Apps, CRM (Salesforce experience strongly preferred), project management, and marketing software.

Education/Training Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred.
