What We’ve Learned and What We Shouldn’t Forget: Homelessness During COVID-19
August 27, 2020 | 11 am
Dr. Benjamin Henwood, Associate Professor and Director of the Homelessness, Housing, and Health Equity (H3E) Research Center, will present an overview of the H3E Center and how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the Center’s work. How have efforts to answer key questions been interrupted by the pandemic? What is the size and make-up of LA’s homeless population? Why has Veteran homelessness remained unchanged? How can we best address the needs of an aging homeless population? In addition, Dr. Henwood will address novel emerging questions, including implementing telehealth within homeless services, effects of access to housing in reducing COVID-19 risk, and the use of mobile devices to better understand trajectories of homelessness. Dr. Henwood will highlight the Center’s emphasis on addressing research, practice, and policy related to ending homelessness.
