Visit from Dr. Hortensia Amaro

Dr. Amaro is associate dean for urban health research, and distinguished professor of health sciences and of counseling psychology, at the Bouvé College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University, as well as director of the the university's Institute on Urban Health Research. She has led a distinguished career that has spanned scholarly research, the translation of science to practice, top-level policy consultation, and service on five Institute of Medicine committees, dramatically advancing our understanding of substance abuse disorders treatment, HIV prevention and other urgent public health challenges.
