Dr. Eric Rice will discuss how systemic racism has shaped homelessness in the U.S. and in Los Angeles. Together with Dr. Phebe Vayanos, and Chyna Hiill, postdoctoral researcher, he will present research conducted as part of their interdisciplinary research center which includes both social work scientists and computer scientists. He will share new developments in this ongoing work that includes collaboration with the Los Angeles Homeless Service Authority, housing providers, and persons with lived experience of homelessness in Los Angeles.
