Zoom Webinar
Description:
During the foundation year of an MSW program, students often have field experiences that expose them to trauma and social injustice. Additionally, students are often experiencing the growing pains of increased self-awareness while simultaneously coping with everyday challenges, including financial and interpersonal stressors. Clearly, the stressors that social work students may encounter are numerous and can have an impact on one’s academic success and personal health and wellbeing. As such, learning to engage in stress management, self-care, and managing the demands of a rigorous graduate program with personal responsibilities can enhance students’ well-being and set the stage for a long and successful career in the field of social work. In this interactive/skills-based workshop, we will discuss the impact of chronic stress on the mind, body, and spirit, learn methods for managing stress, creating an effective self-care plan, and discuss methods for managing the demands of school and life.
