Systemic Racism & Poverty
Details:

Systemic Racism & Poverty is the second episode of the AASWSW's webinar series on systemic racism. An examination of the wealth and income dynamics in the U.S. reveals staggering disparity between black and white households. This episode will explore how systemic racism has created such inequality and the over-representation of black families struggling with poverty. Historical foundations, contemporary reinforcing structures, and potential solutions will be discussed.

Shaun M. Eack, Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work, will interview Larry E. Davis, Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work, Michael A. Lindsey, Executive Director of the NYU Silver School of Social Work, and Mark A. Rank, Professor at the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis.
