Immigration Training for Social Work Practitioners: Working with Immigrant Families in the Changing Landscape

For MSW students, staff/faculty and professional social workers working with immigrant families across settings, including mental health, schools, child welfare, medical settings, corrections, courts etc.
The morning sessions will focus on immigration law, policy, and advocacy while the afternoon sessions will highlight clinical and practice related issues across various social work settings, including child welfare, education, community health and mental health and the criminal justice system.
Speakers include representatives from the following organizations: CARECEN-LA, The Children’s Partnership, California Immigrant Policy Center, Clinica Romero, Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS), Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA) and the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office. Attendees will also hear first-hand narratives from immigrant youth impacted by immigration laws and policies.
To receive CEU's, CEU eligible attendees will need to provide their license numbers, attend the entire 7 hours training and sign in and out of the event.
