All sessions will be held at the Orange County Academic Center from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, with a 50-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks each day. Upon completion, participants will receive a certification as mandated by California Evidence Code Section 1037.1. There is a $200 fee for non-volunteers and $150 fee for volunteers due September 2, 2011, which includes materials. There are five scholarships available for USC School of Social Work students, as well as five half-price discounts for USC students and faculty, available on a first-come, first-served basis. *Offering CEU credits at an additional cost of $30. This class includes information on the cycle of violence, the power and control wheel, the psychology of the victim, and services available for the family. Participants will gain an understanding of the dynamics of a domestic violence relationship. This class meets the qualifications for 3 hours of continuing education credits for MFTs and LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. No refunds given for non attendance; however, class can be retaken at a later date.
**Requires 1 additional hour of on-site specific training prior to beginning volunteer hours.
