MSW students will premiere their short films (15 minutes or less) from the Media in Social Work Documentary class at the 14th Annual USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work Film Festival.
The six films to be screened tackle the subjects of diversity, inclusion and equity ranging from Muslim-American women, urban heat islands in south LA, devaluing arts education, empowerment of black women, public perceptions of being seen as "too high functioning" to have your mental illness taken seriously, and the redemptive story of a black woman from prison to activist.
