Biography

Subharati Ghosh, Ph.D., MSW, is a Senior Program Manager with SEIU775 Benefits, based in Seattle. Her role is to develop innovative evidence-based programs to help improve the health and wellbeing of Home Care Aides supporting older adults and people with disabilities live independently at home, in the State of Washington. Dr. Ghosh specializes in the study of caregiving and disability across the life course. Prior to her role as senior program manager, Dr. Ghosh was a professor at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Her work included examining the long-term caregiving affects the wellbeing of families in India. Dr. Ghosh is a trained social work researcher, and her specific skills include quantitative and mixed methods research. Dr. Ghosh completed her doctoral degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Social Work, USA and was a post-doctoral research fellow at the Lurie Institute for Disability Policy, The Heller School for Social Policy and Management, Brandeis University, USA. She has been a Primary Investigator of several studies that explore issues around caregiving and disability in India and has several publications and book chapters to her credit. In 2015 Dr. Ghosh received the prestigious NASI- Elsevier & Scopus Young Scientist Award, for her contribution to Social Sciences in India.
